Samolet Group announces nomination of new Board of Directors, including Company’s third independent director
Samolet Group (“the Company”) (MOEX:SMLT), a leading developer of large-scale mixed-use projects across Russia, announces that its Board of Directors has nominated Oskar Hartmann as its third independent director. In his new role, Oskar Hartmann would help guarantee the interests of minority shareholders and oversee innovations and other matters related to technological development and startup investments. These developments are of crucial importance as they help improve the quality of life for clients in Samolet Group projects.
The other six candidates to be appointed to the Board of Directors of Samolet Group remain unchanged, with Dmitry Golubkov, Igor Yevtushevsky, Anton Elistratov and Mikhail Kenin nominated as directors, and Alexander Prygunkov and Stanislav Shekshnia as independent directors.
The Board nominations will be reviewed at the upcoming General Meeting of the Shareholders scheduled for 6 May 2021.
Dmitry Golubkov, Chairman of Board of Directors at Samolet Group, commented:
“Following our IPO in October 2020, Samolet Group has started to execute the second part of its investment strategy, which focuses on the continued diversification of the business, market capitalisation growth and implementing plans to increase free float and stock liquidity and boost the Company’s investment case.
“Oskar Hartmann’s experience as one of the most renowned and successful tech startup investors would be a priceless asset for us, particularly as it would come at a time when Samolet Group is going beyond the classic development model and entering into new areas of business. Oskar would become a key member of our Board and his contribution to the Company’s strategic management should help accelerate our development as one of the most high-tech companies in the Russian development market. The appointment of a third independent director should also ensure that the interests of our minority shareholders are met.”
Oskar Hartmann is a serial entrepreneur, philanthropist and founder of more than 10 companies with a total market capitalisation of more than USD 5 billion, including KupiVIP, Aktivo, CarPrice, and many more. Currently, Oskar also serves as member of the Board of Directors of Alfa Bank and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Rybakov Foundation (non-profit organisation).
